Dates and Deadlines

 

UWSP Financial Aid Application Deadline Date

Although we have no real deadline date as financial aid applications continue to be processed on a weekly basis throughout the year, it is important to complete all application requirements prior to the students last day of enrollment in the aid year.

October 1st - FAFSA is Available

Each year the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available online.

Mid March - Award Letters to Incoming Students

The Financial Aid Office begins sending and emailing award letters to new incoming students.

March 15 - Priority Date for Filing the FAFSA

Applicants should submit their FAFSA data on or before March 15 to be considered in the initial awarding process.  

April 15th - Tax Filing Deadline

The tax deadline with the IRS is April 15th. Keep copies of your tax documents as they may be needed by the Financial Aid Office.

Late May - Award Letters to Continuing Students

Financial Aid Award letters for the upcoming summer, fall, and spring are emailed to continuing students who are also FAFSA applicants.

August - Direct Loan Certification and School Bill

Direct loan certifications for Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loan borrowers are transmitted. University billing statements for fall are sent from the university's business office with the payment plan information.

September (early) - Credit and Refund

Fall financial aid is credited to your account and any refunds will be available within a day or two. You may sign up for direct deposit on your myPoint.

January (mid) - Credit and Refund

Spring financial aid is credited to your account and any refunds will be available within a day or two. You may sign up for direct deposit on your myPoint.
