Recycling by the Numbers:
 
During a ten year period, 2005 through 2015, the UWSP Facility Services - Recycling Work Unit's amounts of recycled material figures are really quite incredible. Let's take a look at some of these numbers from this decade long effort.

  • 1,007,409 pounds (503.7 ton) of Compost
  • 528,840 pounds (264.4 tons) of Metals
  • 177,150 pounds (88.5 ton) of Wood and Wood Pallets
  • 162,714 pounds (81.3 ton) of Cooking Oil
  • 80,019 pounds (40 ton) of Aluminum
  • 44, 793 pounds (22.3 ton) of Fluorescent Lights
  • 28,799 pounds (14.3 ton) of Waste Oil
  • 25,690 pounds (121.8 ton) of Tires
  • 14,717 pounds (7.3 ton) of Appliances
  • 7,221 pounds (3.6 ton) of Batteries
  • 1600 pounds (.8 ton) of Oil Filters
  • 845 pounds (.4 ton) of Antifreeze
