Study ESL at UW-Stevens Point

For over thirty years, the UW-Stevens Point English as a Second Language Program has welcomed students to develop their study skills and English language abilities to prepare for university work. Small classes, with an average size of 12 students, form a family-like community in an American university.

Experienced instructors encourage fun and initiative, focus on the individual student, and help students develop both language skills and connections to campus. Completion of advanced ESL Program classes with a grade of B allows students to begin university work without a TOEFL or IELTS score.

Unique program features:

  • 8-week sessions with five new student start dates each year
  • Small classes (12-15 students)
  • Guaranteed on-campus housing
  • A welcoming and friendly "college town"
  • U.S. News and World Report top-ranked university
  • Conditional admission to undergraduate study
  • Over 30 years of quality instruction with personal attention
