Messages to Students
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I enjoy watching something click for students. When students have been working through difficult concepts or an idea they’re trying to write about and they suddenly get it, I love seeing them light up. That feeling of accomplishment is amazing to witness.
What do you want students gain from your teaching?
I want students to understand that writing doesn’t have to be perfect in order to be good. I want students to leave my class understanding that different audiences need different things, and that once they figure out their audience, they can write almost anything.
