Qualifications

Four-Step Application Process

  1. Complete the University of Wisconsin System application (apply.wisconsin.edu).  
    • The UW Admissions Office will confirm receipt via email.
  2. Send all official electronic transcripts directly to UW-Stevens Point (master’s degree required prior to enrolling). 
  3. Complete the UWSP School of Education Application, including: 
    • Copy of transcripts (can be unofficial) 
    • Names and contact information for three professional references 
    • Current resume or CV showing at least three years of documented professional  experience, this document should include full name, address, phone  number, e-mail address, colleges attended with degrees and dates, employment history, professional  experiences, trainings/certifications related to the science of reading,  publications and conference presentations. 
    • Letter of intent
      • Please share in 750-1,200 words why you are seeking an Ed.D. in Language and Literacy, addressing the following questions: 
        • Given your perspective on language and/or literacy, along with the literacy challenges and successes we face in the world, please share one area you foresee yourself studying, researching or acting on in this degree program? 
        • What are your life and/or professional experiences related to your potential area of study and how do you envision the completion of an Ed.D. in Language and Literacy will advance or support your life and/or career goals? 
        • Describe your readiness and strengths you will bring to an Ed.D. program that is cohort-based within an interactive online learning environment. 
  4. Complete interview with the admissions committee 

Admissions Decision Process

Application materials will be reviewed by our UWSP Ed.D. Admission Committee. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview before being accepted into the program.
