Students in the Central Wisconsin Alliance for Early Childhood Education Program are required to take the "Elementary Education: Content Knowledge" Praxis Subject Assessment test #5018. This test covers content in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. To register, visit Educational Testing Services online. Students should take this test in semester III of Cohort IV.

This is a test that covers skills needed to teach reading and is required for all Early Childhood Education majors. Students should take this test after semester II of Cohort IV.

VI. Education Teacher Performance Assessment

edTPA includes a review of a teacher candidates authentic teaching materials as the culmination of a teaching and learning process that documents and demonstrates each candidates ability to effectively teach his/her subject matter to all students. Students must complete the Education Teacher Performance Assessment during their student teaching semester.

Students are expected to maintain satisfactory and steady progress in the program and must have at least a 2.75 grade point average in major, minor and cumulative to be eligible to student teach.
