Hi everyone! I’m X\u014dchipilli Bustamante and I’m so excited to share my story with you. I use they\/them pronouns and I identify as Latine and autistic. I’m also a first-generation college grad who earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies with an Emphasis on Global and East Asia, Minors in Art History and Philosophy from UWSP in 2017.<\/p>\n
I was born and raised in California by my sedulous undocumented parents who taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and community. I moved to Wisconsin in 2010 and I fell in love with the area, the people, the snow, and the cheese. I also discovered my passion for queer activism and social justice, which led me to join various organizations and campaigns throughout my time as a student here. I have over 10 years of experience in advocating for equity and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community along with educating myself and advocating for all marginalized communities.<\/p>\n
Some of my hobbies include playing video games, collecting cute things, discussing and developing queer theory, and deconstructing the socialized norms that maintain our systemic oppression.<\/p>\n
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to engage in this work to support folks in our communities like yourself. I hope you find community, friends, family, and most importantly, you.
