She has maintained a thriving private studio for more than 20 years.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Rachel taught class piano for Penn State University and directed their piano preparatory program, a collaboration providing hands-on teacher training to pedagogy masters students. In addition, Rachel served as executive director of the Music Arts School, a community music school in Highland Park, IL, where she and her faculty served over 300 students through applied and group instruction, chamber music, and community outreach programs.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Rachel completed a Master of Music degree in piano performance and pedagogy at Penn State University, a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at the University of Nebraska &#8211; Lincoln, and Suzuki teacher training at the Music Institute of Chicago. She has written for <em>Keyboard Companion<\/em> and <em>American Music Teacher<\/em> magazines, has presented at national pedagogy conferences, and is a member of Music Teachers National Association and Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society. She is an active adjudicator and collaborative pianist.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, Brent, and their three children.
