Chief Human Resources Officer

Shulun Chang-Reuter brings extensive human resources experience and executive leadership to her role as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Known for driving organizational transformation, talent optimization, and high-performance cultures, Shulun oversees comprehensive HR strategic partnerships and operations to support the university’s mission and workforce.

Prior to joining UW-Stevens Point, Shulun built a distinguished career spanning federal government agency, retail, hospitality, logistic, and high-tech sectors. This includes impactful tenures at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (The Exchange) and Google, where she led critical HR transformation projects and talent development initiatives.

Having lived and led teams across the US, Europe, and Asia, Shulun brings a deeply global perspective to UWSP, leading with cultural humility and an unwavering commitment to inclusivity.

While her background spans complex global transformations, Shulun’s signature strength and deepest passion lie in cultivating talent. As an ICF-certified coach and active mentor, she specializes in coaching leaders to navigate ambiguity and lead with authenticity, as well as elevating HR practitioners from transactional operators into high-impact strategic business partners.

Driven by a deep commitment to the intersection of organizational effectiveness and social impact, Shulun is dedicated to channeling her experience into supporting higher education. At UW-Stevens Point, her focus is on partnering with university teams to foster the resilience required to make a lasting, positive difference.

Shulun holds a Master of Human Resources Management from Rutgers University-New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Yuan Ze University, where she has also served as an External Advisory Board Member and an Adjunct faculty teaching GMBA courses in Strategic and International HR Management. 

She maintains advanced industry credentials, including Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designations. She is also certified in Energy Leadership, Clifton Strength, and Resilience Builder.
