Lisa (Golda) Sanderson fulfills multiple roles in the UW System. An Associate Lecturer in voice and pianist for the BFA in Musical Theatre at UWSP, she is also a Faculty Fellow (applied theatre & microaggressions work) at the UWSP Center for Inclusive Teaching and Learning, a 2021 Spirit of Community Service campus-wide staff award, and a founding member and Chair of the department’s anti-racist Advocacy, Allyship, and Access Committee. Lisa is also a Positive Youth Development Educator for UW Madison Extension.
A graduate of the world-renowned Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (vocal performance, 2006), Lisa’s performing resume includes professional opera, opera chorus, acting, and theatrical & church music direction, with orgs including Portland Opera, Seattle Opera, Next Act Theatre, Chicago Opera Playhouse, and various collegiate and storefront theatres.
She was the Business Manager at The Skylight Music Theatre and a teaching artist for Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education.
Lisa has studied the Estill Vocal Method with Dr. Kimberly Steinhauer at Point Loma in San Diego and contemporary operatic performance with Ann Baltz (Operaworks) Her former voice students include three winners of the Kohler Foundation Scholarship, each winning 35-45k apiece for collegiate theatrical and vocal studies after in-depth audition prep and study with Lisa. She specializes in functional vocal technique and performance mindfulness.
