Kele Anyanwu



Professor Kele Anyanwu joined UW-Stevens Point in January 2013. He graduated with a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) Curriculum and Instruction with specialization in Instructional Technology from University of Houston. Professor Anyanwu is an assistant professor of educational technology of School of Education at UW-Stevens Point. In the years he has been here, Professor Anyanwu has focused on implementing pre-service teacher educational technology curriculum geared towards ensuring student teachers from UWSP are classroom-ready with emerging trends in pedagogically relevant technologies of the 21st Century classroom environment.

Prior to joining UWSP, Professor Anyanwu worked in Pasadena Independent School District in Houston, Texas for six years as a composite certified science teacher designated highly qualified to teach any high school science subject. Before joining the school district, he worked with a telecommunication company – MCI WorldCom, as a systems engineer. Professor Anyanwu was part of the team that saw the provisioning and support of early implementation of Voice Over IP (VOIP) in the mid to late ’90s. He has Computer Technology Industry Association and Microsoft technical certifications.

Professor Anyanwu spent his early working life in Nigeria that lasted for about a decade where he held positions as quality control manager and deputy production manager in Golden Guinea Breweries LTD. in Umuahia. While serving in these capacities, Professor Anyanwu championed utilization of sustainable indigenous carbohydrate sources in brewing of beer that saw the substitution of imported barley malt with local carbohydrate sources like sorghum to about 60 percent. His involvement in the local raw materials content committee that implemented these substitutions and interaction with local farmers, he was able to understand why both farmers and policy makers should rethink education that endures sustainable practices.
