biography

Hi! My name is Andy Held, and I’m the Associate Director of the DRC. I have worked at UWSP since June of 2007 in a variety of roles, including disability accommodations and academic advising. I was appointed director of the DRC in April of 2018. I earned a B.A. in architecture (with a minor in history) from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and a M.Ed. in Student Personnel Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee.

In my current role as associate director, I oversee our center’s efforts to ensure all students have equal access to the university’s educational programs and activities. I also work directly with students to develop accommodation plans that meet their individual needs. I enjoy our center’s collaboration with many other areas on campus to facilitate access, both in and out of the classroom.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my two boys, watching documentaries and reading about history and current events, and following the Milwaukee Brewers.
