EMERGENCY GRANTS

EMERGENCY GRANTS

Emergencies can happen and grants can help ease this stress so you can continue with school. Review grant eligibility prior to applying and always connect with Financial Aid to see if they can help too.

Baxter grant (all three campuses) 

Grants available to students in good academic standing, who are degree-seeking, and are experiencing a short-term emergency financial problem that could impact a students’ ability to continue their education.  

Branch campus grants (Marshfield and Wausau campuses only) 

Grants available to branch campus students experiencing an unexpected financial crisis that could impact a students’ ability to continue the semester. Students must have completed the FAFSA and have a calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of less than $5,000.

The Cupboard is the Stevens Point campus’ food pantry, located in the lower level of the Dreyfus University Center (DUC). It is available to enrolled students. Staff will fill requests during the week (see posted hours), students may self-select items when The Cupboard is open or complete an online request via SPIN. 

The Cupboard at Wausau, located in 167 Main Academic Building on the Wausau campus, is available for enrolled students. Students may self-select items or complete an online request

Additional community resources (for all three campuses) are available. Those eligible may apply for FoodShare benefits. Additional resources for eligible pregnant, postpartum, and nursing mothers and their children are available through the WIC program

SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS (SAP)

SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS (SAP)

Students must demonstrate “Satisfactory Academic Progress” in areas of GPA, Pace (67% rule), and Maximum Timeframe (150% rule) to receive financial aid. Students who fail to progress may appeal to have their aid eligibility reinstated. Follow the instructions given to you, complete relevant forms, and work with your advisor and the Financial Aid office to ensure you meet deadlines and expectations.
