Learn about our analytical services

The Water and Environmental Analysis Lab performs a variety of analytical services for the research and characterization of drinking water, lake & river quality, groundwater monitoring, runoff monitoring, and more.

The following information provides a listing of analytes and pricing. We can work with you to plan out your project or individual sample analysis needs. For quality control/assurance reasons we require you to use our sample bottles, so please contact us in advance of initiating any project or sampling event to make sure we can equip you with the proper supplies.

If you have questions about particular methods, equipment used, detection levels, limit of quantification, etc., please email or contact us to set up a time to discuss your project or analytical needs.

Trace Metals by ICP-OES – Dissolved or Digested*

Individual metal analysis can be performed for $30 per element. There is a significant discount if analyzed as part of a package (see Metal Packages for more details).

  • Aluminum
  • Arsenic (screen)
  • Barium
  • Beryllium
  • Boron
  • Cadmium
  • Calcium
  • Chromium
  • Cobalt
  • Copper
  • Iron
  • Lead (screen)
  • Magnesium
  • Manganese
  • Molybdenum
  • Nickel
  • Potassium
  • Selenium
  • Silver
  • Sodium
  • Strontium
  • Sulfate
  • Uranium
  • Vanadium
  • Zinc

*For a total metal analysis on a water sample an aqueous digestion is required (SW-846 Method 3020) – $15

Low-Level Metals by ICP-MS

  • Low-level Arsenic or Lead – $55

Standard Metals (A) – $75

This package contains the following elements:

  • Aluminum
  • Arsenic (screen)*
