The UWSP chapter of the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a student organization devoted to developing member knowledge about the field of Communicative Disorders, participating in university and community service activities, and having fun! NSSLHA is a great organization to be involved in whether you are considering a major or are currently majoring in communication sciences and disorders. It is a wonderful way to gain valuable volunteer experiences as well as meet new people, including; community members, fellow students, professors and staff. NSSLHA is involved in many fun and exciting activities throughout the school year including; a department Spring Picnic, Highway clean-up, Halloween party for the children of the Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, volunteering at Head Start Preschool, spending time with nursing home residents and much more!

The purpose of the UW-Stevens Point Miles of Smiles Club shall be:
- To raise funds for cleft palate and cleft lip support at a local, state, national, and global level.
- To offer unique educational opportunities for students interested in working in any discipline that may encounter individuals who have a cleft palate or cleft lip.
- To hold university and community wide events that will raise awareness for cleft lip and cleft palate.
The function of this club shall not be limited to those mentioned above.
