Joan DeGuire North, dean of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point College of Professional Studies from 1985-2010, saw us for what we are—proactive, resourceful, connected and caring. She reminded us that constant integration with our professions enriches us all and confirms our unifying identity. An optimistic realist with a healthy sense of humor, Joan cultivated growth, understood pruning and appreciated beauty. And that has made all the difference.
