Corporate Culture Panel - Best Practices

Whether written as a mission statement, spoken or merely understood, corporate culture describes and governs the ways a company's owners and employees think, feel and act. Your own business's culture may be based on beliefs spelled out in your mission statement. It could consist of a corporate symbol, like the rainbow-colored apple symbolizing Apple Computer. Whatever shape it takes, your corporate culture plays a big role in determining how well your business will do.

The Success of Kwik Trip

John McHugh is Manager of Corporate Communications, Leadership Development, and Training for Kwik Trip. He will discuss the steps to success of the Kwik Trip franchise in his keynote address.

Prior to joining Kwik Trip in 2004, John was an instructor and principal at Aquinas High School in LaCrosse. He holds degrees from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. John is president of the Freinds of Wisconsin Public Television, president of the board of the Franciscan Spirituality Center, and sits on the board of the Seven Rivers Alliance for Economic Development.

Bruce is a senior consultant with Watsabaugh Conlow Worldwide (a performance improvement company), and instrauctor at teh University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communications, as well as owner of Moorhouse Consulting. He served as Manager, Corporate Communications of 3M Corporation from 1980-2009.

Sara Laschever is an author, editor and cultural critic who has written exclusively about women's life and career obstacles. She is the co-author, with Linda Babcock, of Women Don't Ask: The High Cost of Avoiding Negotiation - and Positive Strategies for Change and Ask for It! How Women Can Use the Power of Negotiation to Get What They Really Want.  She lectures and teaches workshops about women and negotiation and women's challenges in the modern workforce for corporate audiences, colleges and universities, law firms, government agencies, and women's leadership conferences in the U.S. and around the world. Although her books focus on women's negotiation skills, this session will be beneficial for all who attend!
