Watercolor Doodle-Dala Painting

Free your mind. This first Zen-Art class of the series will begin our exploration of the mindful and meditative technique of creating Mandala art. We will focus on playing with color through watercolor paints and allowing our minds to be free from constraints as we build a whimsical Mandala with doodled details. We will let go of perfectionism and instead focus on the energy of color and the magic of play.

Materials needed for this class: watercolor paints + brushes, two small water pots (one for cleaning brushes and one for clean water), small spray bottle with water, cold press watercolor paper (suggested 8x10 or 9x12 size), ultra-fine tip black and white acrylic paint pens.

Repetition and rhythm. Focusing on the mindful pattern-making of Mandala art, this second Zen-Art class of the series will offer participants an opportunity to try the activity of Dot Painting. Materials needed for this class: acrylic paints (black + a variety of colors of your choice), paint brushes, brush-on or spray sealant (recommended). Kit includes a trinket box, pendants + chain, practice wood coins + magnets, basic dotting tools.
