Work hard and have fun! Our mission is to develop and nurture 9-12th grade musicians by helping them discover new literature, techniques, and ideas while fostering confidence and enthusiasm. Instructors are comprised entirely of UW-Stevens Point faculty/artists to ensure the best learning environment for students who are serious about music. No other camp in the state is exclusively staffed with resident university faculty. Learn more about the faculty here.
Try something new! Electives include classes like Music Theory, Beginning Improvisation, Movie Music, Composition, Pop Music, Ukulele, Rhythm and Groove with Hand Drums and Shakers, Beginning Piano and Greatest Classical Hits.
Meet new friends! Develop long-lasting friendships and explore Stevens Point. Participate in the Talent show or Karaoke and attend the Camp Dance. Go out for ice cream with new friends.
Immerse Yourself. Unlike any other music camp in the state, our program is designed to give students an immersion experience by providing concentrated study on their primary instrument. In addition to large ensembles and electives, each student is with the UWSP teacher of their instrument for about 3-4 hours per day in master classes, lessons, chamber ensembles and more.
Whether you are an instrumentalist, a vocalist, a composer, or all three, Point Music Camp is the place to be this summer!
