Continuing Education

WSLS is excited to offer Professional Development Hours (PDH’s) for the 2019 Annual Institute. In October of 2009, the Land Surveyors Section of the Registration and Licensing Board adopted Chapter A – E 10, Continuing Education For Land Surveyors. You will need to complete 20 PDHs by February 1, 2020. Chapter A-E 10.03 (1) (b) states:

(b) During each biennial registration period, the registrant shall complete a minimum of two professional development hours of the total number required in each of the following categories:
  1. Programs, courses, or activities in the area of Wisconsin statutes and rules that regulate professional land surveyors and surveys.
  2. Programs, courses, or activities in the area of professional conduct and ethics.
  3. Programs, courses, or activities in the area of land surveying or related sciences.
We have indicated in each session in the Institute Brochure how many PDHs and what categories a session will likely qualify. In summary, you need a minimum of 2 PDHs in each category and the remaining 14 PDHs can come from any category.
If you are a multi-state license holder, please check with your specific state(s) to make sure the PDHs at the WSLS Institute satisfy your requirements. Visit the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors webpage for more information.
