Communicating professionally is about more than being able to write business letters or talk on the phone. You need to be able to navigate multiple dimensions, modes, and styles of communication while paying attention to the needs of your unique audience. You also need to understand how the way you communicate impacts your professional image. In this course, you will develop your professional communication expertise.

In this session, you will learn:

  • to effectively use different communication modes, styles, and types
  • to communicate through various social media platforms and to diverse audiences
  • to develop and give engaging presentations
  • to lead effective and productive meetings
  • how the way you communicate impacts your professional image

About the instructor - Judy Rannow

Judy headshot.jpgHi, I'm Judy Rannow and I have a passion for learning, leadership, and professional development. I believe learning is a key building block of success. Whether you are learning a new hobby or improving your leadership skills, being a lifelong learner is essential to personal and professional growth. My degree in biology (with a focus in conservation and ecology) provided a foundation of my love of research and studying systems. My degree in Adult Education and Human Resource Development honed my ability to find areas where human systems could be improved upon. My varied and eclectic work experience has provided opportunities to put my learning into practice. My education and experience have provided me the skills and desire to blend theory and practice which I use in highly interactive, hands-on and experiential yet practical formal and informal educational sessions. Participants leave each session with the knowledge and materials to make a difference at work, at home and in the community.
