Leadership Workshop Series
The Influential Leader - $249/workshop
($30 for current UWSP students)
Friday, April 13, 2018 - 9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Dreyfus University Center, Legacy Room
This workshop offered in partnership with the UW Leadership Development Program.
Simply put, leadership matters. Institutions that systematically build leadership capacity of their teams outperform those who don't. Creating time for leadership takes effort - there are people to manage, reports to write, meetings to attend, deadlines to meet and, of course, making time for a personal life. This interactive, thought-provoking workshop is designed for managers and leaders who want to increase their positive impact in a meaningful way.
You will explore and learn:
- your leadership values
- your individual motivators
- your leadership purpose statement
- the role of presence and mindfulness in influential and impactful leadership
- ways to build and develop meaningful relationships and connections
- the role of gratitude and generosity in influential leadership

About the instructor - Sarah Young
Hi, I'm Sarah Young, and I'm grateful to work with big thinkers to increase their positive impact in the world. I consider myself part former corporate executive who reads Harvard Business Review and part barefoot nature lover. I bring all of these parts of myself to my work, and I fiercely but lovingly push my clients to do the same. I do this through highly experiential workshops, courses, and events; through high-impact coaching; and through writing, speaking, and online programs.
Prior to launching Zing Collaborative, I spent 8 years in the corporate world leading people, projects, and teams (more info on all of that below). It was during this time that I became obsessed with the possibilities we create when we fully claim all the different parts of ourselves - at work, at home, and out in the world. I blend corporate experience, research, mindfulness, leadership, coaching, and experiential learning with the goal of empowering organizations, teams, and individuals to get great results in a way that feels inspired and alive. My clients range from top universities to high-tech startups to construction crews to financial institutions to healthcare organizations. Regardless of the industry, they share one thing in common: they are serious about increasing their positive impact and tapping into their full humanity to do so. When I'm not engaged in meaningful conversations with clients and members of my tribe, I'm usually out exploring and adventuring, hanging out in nature, or hanging out with my favorite two-legged and four-legged companions.
