The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), is pleased to announce the 16th annual FOCUS conference for health care providers and DQA staff on November 15-16, 2017, at the Kalahari Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. The FOCUS 2017 conference is being developed in collaboration with DQA, health care provider and provider association representatives.

​This year's special session is, "The Art and Science of Diabetes Management" and will address many of the most common chronic diseases faced by residents residing in WI healthcare facilities. Beverly Thomassian, will deliver the keynote address, "Beyond Slicing Scale Diabetes Management Strategies for Mature Audiences."

The theme of the FOCUS 2017 conference is, "Teach, Learn, Collaborate." The conference will address a wide variety of health care related topics. Michael Gillette, will deliver the keynote address titled, "Ethics in Long Term Care."

Once you have logged in and entered your demographic information, select the appropriate registration fee, select continue, and then proceed to select session choices.
 
Past attendees with an account with UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education:
  • Use your email from last year to login.
  • Forgot your password? An email will be sent with instructions to reset your password.
First time registrants:
  • Enter an email address. This will be your customer log-in for future conference.
Registering someone else:
  • Checkmark the box at the top of the page.
  • Both the registrant and you will receive a registration confirmation letter.
Registering multiple registrants:
  • Select "add additional registrant".
  • Do not check out after the first registrant.

Cancellation Policy

Full refunds granted upon receipt of written request to uwspce-conf@uwsp.edu. No refunds will be given after November 1, 2017. Substitutions can be made at anytime, but no shows will be responsible for the full conference fee. Last minute registrations cannot be guaranteed meals or materials.

2017 Lodging

Kalahari Convention Center, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
A block of rooms at the Kalahari Resort has been reserved for conference attendees at the current State Prevailing Rate of $82 per night for single occupancy.  Double through quadruple occupancy is $129. Make individual reservations by calling the Kalahari at 877-253-5466 and ask for the Focus 2017 room block.

Hotel room rates are subject to applicable state and local tax unless a tax exempt ID or S211 form is presented at check-in. Please note that the Kalahari requires a one-night deposit when the reservation is made. The room block will be held until October 15, 2017. After that date, the regular room rates apply.
