9 a.m. – Noon
Schmeeckle Reserve, Stevens Point, WI
Join acclaimed birder, photographer, and award winning author of ‘The Crossley ID Guide’ series, Richard Crossley, on a walk through picturesque Schmeeckle Reserve. During the walk, Richard will talk about the features that make waterfowl unique and special, why these characteristics have been adapted, and how they can be used to help distinguish between species.
Immediately following the walk will be an intimate social hour and book signing. The perfect opportunity to meet and talk with Richard!
Richard, a native of Yorkshire, fell in love with birding at an early age. As an adult he began mixing his love of birding with his interest in photography, design, and technology to create more lifelike and complete images of birds. It’s through this innovative style that he writes his guide series, including his latest release: “The Crosseley ID Guide: Waterfowl”. Richard is also the co-founder of Pledge to Fledge, Race4Birds, and The Cape May Young Birders Club. He has also served on the board of directors for Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.
