Purpose: UWSP’s faculty sabbatical program is to support faculty leave to engage in intensive scholarship and research to enhance teaching and curriculum development, to conduct discipline-specific research, or to pursue other scholarly activities related to programs within the expertise of the faculty member.
Sabbatical Review Subcommittee (SRS)

The Sabbatical Review Subcommittee is a subcommittee of Faculty Council. It establishes the specific application requirements and selection procedures per the UW Faculty Sabbatical Program policy and subject to the chancellor’s approval, and monitors the work of the College Sabbatical Review Committees. It has the authority to create and modify sabbatical policy and procedures that affect all university colleges. The SRS consists of up to eight tenured faculty. The chair is elected by faculty members. The chair selects other members representing the faculty of all colleges. The Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is a non-voting ex officio member.
Sabbatical applications are submitted to and reviewed by College Sabbatical Review Committees which are selected by the colleges.
