    Program Review

    Program Review

Departments and Schools should submit the self-studies of their programs using the provided template when the program is due for review according to the Program Review Cycle. Please contact the chair of the Program Review Subcommittee (under Academic Affairs Committee) or the Associate Vice Chancellor for Teaching, Learning, and Strategic Planning with questions.

See also the Program Review site under Academic Affairs.

    Articulation Agreements

    Articulation Agreements

Articulation Agreements are specific credit transfer agreements between UW-Stevens Point and other institutions. The process for developing, revising, or renewing an agreement is in the University Handbook, Chapter 7, Section 7. Signed agreements are sent to shared governance (Academic Affairs Committee) at the end of the process for information and reporting to the university community. This Handbook section also covers Inter-Institutional Agreements.

    General Education Program

    General Education Program

Shared governance has an important role in the oversight of the General Education Program through the General Education Committee.

Please refer to the General Education Program website for information on the current GEP, the Core General Education Requirements (CGER), effective Fall 2026, and the process to submit proposals for courses to have designations under either program.

    Note:

    • General Education Program application form
    • New CGER course designation proposals will be processed through Coursedog
    • Review the UWSP Academic Approval Chart for required approvals. In Coursedog, the forms will flow through committees and individuals for approval.
    • Curriculum approval deadlines may also apply to general education designations. See the Curriculum Committee site for the 9th-week deadlines.
    • Contact the chair of the General Education Committee or the Associate Dean of University College before beginning an application for a course designation.
    Extension to complete Master’s Degree

Request for an extension of time to finish the master’s degree

This form requires approval from the Graduate Council. Current graduate policy states that all credit accepted toward a degree, including transfer credit, must have been earned within a seven-year period (which starts when the student completes the first class approved for their program).  Extensions may be granted for health reasons, fulfillment of military obligations, or other extenuating circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the student.

This request should be completed and submitted to the Graduate Council Chair one semester prior to the expiration of the seven-year time period.
