Students who study interpersonal and organizational communication at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point explore the complex nature of communication in everyday life and its importance to success in business and personal contexts. Students gain skills in working in teams, managing conflict, assessing and improving workplace communication, interviewing and conducting research.
With an average placement rate of more than 90 percent, our graduates continue their success in the professional workplace. Students learn highly transferrable skills for careers in sales, health care, customer relations, management, corporate training, and more. Job possibilities are limited only by a student’s imagination.

The Division of Communication has sponsored a successful internship program for many decades. In today’s competitive job market, many employers prefer graduates who have demonstrated their abilities in a successful internship.
The Communication Arts Center is located in the heart of campus, just behind Old Main Hall and next to the Dreyfus University Center. The historic 50,000-square-foot building boasts some of the newest communication technology available and state-of-the art classroom facilities, while still maintaining its charm and beautiful architecture.
Students appreciate our faculty’s open-door policies and their willingness to help with recommendations, advice about jobs, graduate schools and dilemmas encountered by students. The department affiliates closely with UW-Stevens Point’s Career Services office, linking education to the world of work for students and alumni.
