The arts management program, which was established in 1988, is the oldest undergraduate program of its kind in the state. It was recently ranked top in the state, fourth in the Midwest and in the top 25 in the nation on niche.com. Arts management combines skills in business, communication and the arts to promote all facets of the arts. Unlike other programs in the Department of Theatre and Dance, Arts Management requires no audition or interview for admission.

Arts management combines skills in business, communication and the arts to promote all facets of the arts. Arts managers are responsible for financing and marketing, developing programs, managing facilities, writing grants, and managing personnel to support artists and arts agencies.

UW-Stevens Point offers a wide range of media opportunities on campus for students to become involved with.  Arts Managment student opportunies include:

Internships are required for arts management majors. Each student must complete two, two-credit internships and a 12-credit externship. Internships typically are done locally and might include:

Externships are completed while working full-time for an arts organization outside of Stevens Point. Students also may elect to complete this requirement through UW-Stevens Point’s London externship program.
