Christopher Cirmo joined UW-Stevens Point as Dean in 2009.  He has experience in higher education administration and faculty positions at many levels including as instructor and institute director at a community college, assistant professor at a private liberal arts college, tenured faculty member and department chair at a regional comprehensive SUNY campus, and as teaching associate and post-doctoral scientist at Syracuse University.

He has experience as an environmental scientist with British Petroleum Corporation, and was Program Director in the Hydrological Sciences Section of the Earth Sciences Division at the National Science Foundation (NSF) where he spearheaded several interdisciplinary efforts within the Division of Earth Science and in the Division of Undergraduate Education.  He is a practicing geoscientist and has been principal investigator (PI) and collaborator on grants from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of Education, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the NYC Department of Environmental Conservation.
