Wisconsin air quality examined at free lecture

From urban sprawl to the use of wood for home heating, the way we live our daily lives in Wisconsin has an impact on the air we breathe.

A free public lecture on Thursday, March 14 will explore the diverse challenges facing air quality in Wisconsin.

“Acid Rain to Wood Smoke: Air Quality Challenges in Wisconsin” will be presented by David Synder, an assistant professor in the UW-Stevens Point Department of Chemistry. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the Pinery Room of the Portage County Library, 1001 Main Street, Stevens Point.  The presentation is the sixth of the eight-part College of Letters and Science 2012-13 Community Lecture Series.
