Professor of Sport Management | Robert Morris University
This presentation will examine how a professor can integrate data from university athletic teams into a sport analytics class. It will focus on developing relationships with coaches and creating assignments that meet both course learning objectives and deliver useful outcomes for teams. The presentation is delivered from the perspective of an instructor teaching a required course in a sport management curriculum, where student statistical/mathematical capabilities vary widely.John Clark is a professor of sport management at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh where, among his other duties, he teaches applied sport analytics. His research focuses on sport sponsorship, sport sales from the relationship marketing paradigm, and sport consumer behavior. Dr. Clark has consulted with many organizations on how to best utilize, design and sell sport inventory.
