Optimum Quantity of Defensemen

in a Hockey Lineup

The Tampa Bay Lightning have frequently deployed an unconventional lineup over the past few years, utilizing seven defensemen rather than the traditional six. In an attempt to identify the optimal lineup construction, we will evaluate both roster structures across team, offensive and defensive levels, along with other potential variables, to gain the best perspective when evaluating and comparing the performances of both lineups.
