The Great Lakes Analytics Conference, sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, is a conference showcasing the latest concepts, research and innovations in the fast-growing field of data analytics. The conference aims to provide a platform where both academic and professional approaches to this rapidly expanding field of activity can be explored. The conference will feature an opportunity for students and faculty to present posters or oral presentations on topics in fields including but not limited to:

We are looking for presentations not only on applications of analytics in the solution of real problems but also in the advance of the theoretical frameworks, techniques, and methods that contribute to the development of analytics knowledge. We invite presentations that can produce insights in how to tackle problems of current and future organizations based on analytics, data science, artificial intelligence, and emergent paradigms that will guide the new management in organizations private and public.

Submission Instructions

To submit a presentation, visit the submission portal and enter all requested information, including your name, the name of your organization, your position, your email address and phone number, your presentation title, your presentation abstract and format (oral or poster), and any A/V requirements. After completing, please email analyticsconference@uwsp.edu to verify your submission was received.

Registration

Registration fees for the Great Lakes Analytics Conference are:

  • $29 Student
  • $79 Non-student

Discounts are available for groups of 3-5 or 6 or more attendees.

Host

The conference will be held at the Dreyfus University Center at UW-Stevens Point. UWSP is a four-year comprehensive university in the acclaimed University of Wisconsin System, home to approximately 8,000 students enrolled in more than 120 undergraduate programs.

UW-Stevens Point fields teams in 20 intercollegiate sports, including more than 500 student-athletes. Pointer teams have won national championships in men’s and women’s basketball, men’s hockey, and softball, in addition to individual national championships in cross country, track and field, and swimming and diving. The university competes in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, considered one of the top Division III conferences in the country.

Location

Stevens Point is home to 20 parks, as well as the Green Circle biking and jogging trail and Ice Age Scenic Trail. Other attractions include SentryWorld, a Robert Trent Jones-designed golf course, and the adjacent Schmeeckle Reserve nature reserve, part of the UW-Stevens Point campus. SentryWorld was recently chosen to host the 71st U.S. Girls' Junior Championship in 2019.

Major Stevens Point employers include Sentry Insurance, Skyward (school software), Travel Guard/AIG, Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection and Delta Dental. The area is also home to several renowned craft breweries, including Point Brewery, Central Waters Brewing Company and O’So Brewing Company.

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is located in Central Wisconsin, an easy drive from Madison (2 hours), Milwaukee (2.5 hours), the Twin Cities (3 hours), and Chicago (4 hours). Airports servicing Stevens Point include Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee (CWA), Outagamie County Airport in Appleton (ATW), Dane County Airport in Madison (MSN), Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee (MKE), and Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP).
