GIS Certificate in Programming & Web Development

Modern computing tools and programming provides endless opportunity to customize the GIS interface in ways that are user friendly and help us share information globally.  A GIS Certificate in Programming and Web Development will expose learners to an array of programming functionality and web development platforms.  Learners will augment their ability to use and share content rich geographic information.   
 

Core Courses (8 credits + 1 practicum or internship credit)

  • Geography 241.  Fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems.*
  • Geography 341/541.  Geographic Information Systems I.*
  • Geography 343/543.  Geographic Information Systems II.
  • Geography 480 or 485.  Internship or Practicum.  

Elective Courses (9 credits) 

  • Geography 342/542.  GIS Database Design and Modeling. 
  • Geography 441/641.  GIS Programming and Customization.
  • Geography 447/647.  GIS Web Server Applications and Administration.
