Celebrating Discovery, Innovation, and Student Research Excellence<\/h4>
The Jim and Katie Krause CNR Student Research Symposium highlights the curiosity, creativity, and dedication of students in the College of Natural Resources at UW\u2013Stevens Point. Every year, student researchers share their groundbreaking work across fields like fisheries and water resources, forestry, wildlife ecology, environment and society, paper science and engineering, and soil and waste resources.

For months, students immerse themselves in data collection, field studies, and analysis, gaining hands-on experience that deepens their understanding of the natural world and its connection to human communities. Guided by passionate faculty mentors, these emerging scientists turn innovative ideas into meaningful research that goes beyond the classroom, shaping the future of conservation.

The Jim and Katie Krause College of Natural Resources (CNR) Student Research Symposium is your chance to share your work, learn from others, and celebrate the research happening across the college. At the 2026 symposium, students presented projects on topics like forestry, wildlife, water, and environmental science, showcasing the creativity and passion that drive our students.

The next symposium will take place on Friday, April 16, 2027, in the Trainer Natural Resources Building. Whether you plan to present or just want to explore what others are doing, it\u2019s a great way to get involved and inspired.
