Interpreter's Handbook Series


The Interpreter's Handbook Series is a collection of guidebooks developed for students and practitioners of heritage interpretation. The authors have developed and instructed interpretation courses at UW-Stevens Point for over 30 years. All proceeds directly support Schmeeckle Reserve and the university's environmental interpretation program.

Three books are currently available for purchase:

  • The Interpreter's Guidebook: Techniques for Programs and Presentation—Fourth Edition (2015)
  • Signs, Trails, and Wayside Exhibits: Connecting People and Places—Third Edition (2006)
  • Interpretive Centers: The History, Design, and Development of Nature and Visitor Centers (2002)
