Gift Shop

The Schmeeckle gift shop, located inside the visitor center, offers a wide selection of gifts for outdoor enthusiasts. You’ll find books, clothing, hats, candles, greeting cards, puppets, games, and other unique products perfect for the nature lover at heart. All purchases directly support our student employees, trail maintenance, and habitat restoration.

Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Clothing

We carry t-shirts, sweatshirts, fleece jackets, vests, and hats that are printed or embroidered locally. You’ll find a variety of Schmeeckle Reserve and Green Circle Trail branded items, as well as other nature-related images for adults and children.

Books

The Gift Shop features the area's largest collection of natural and cultural history books. If you're looking for a book on tracking wolves, finding which mushrooms are safe to eat, or how to grow a garden that attracts butterflies or songbirds, we have what you're looking for. We carry an expansive selection of field guides and identification charts. We also have books about Wisconsin, including the state's history, biographies of notable conservationists, and travel guides.

Kids' Corner

Have a seat in our Kids' Corner as you peruse a variety of children's nature-themed storybooks, coloring books, activity guides, and stickers. Be sure to check out the tools for collecting insects and science exploration.

Puppets and Stuffed Animals

Don’t miss the popular animal puppets and stuffed critters, all species found in Wisconsin. We have a large selection of finger puppets including everything from bats to bears.
