Successfully completing your UVM program in a safe, compliant, efficient and fiscally responsible manner will start with a clear and accurate evaluation of the scope of work to be completed. This workload evaluation will be the key foundation for your success in scheduling, budgeting, and procuring the appropriate resources to meet the needs of your program or project. In this course, you will take a hands-on approach to learn the processes, tools, and techniques for managing scope, resources, schedules, cost, procurement, and contracts. You examine best practices related to typical tree inventories, maintenance cycles, budgets, contracts, and work crew configurations.
Examine program scope management process as it relates to UVM including tree work load inventories, field surveys and develop a program scope management plan.
Explain the program resource management process including crew configuration and develop a program resource management plan.
Explain program schedule management and project time management and develop a program schedule management plan.
Examine program financial and project cost management processes and develop a program financial management plan.
Explain the program and project procurement management processes and contracts and develop a program procurement and contract management plan.
This 12-week course is 100% online using a combination of tutorials, discussions, and projects.
This course is designed for utility vegetation management professionals or individuals looking to enter the field. Previous experience with utility vegetation management, arboriculture, or forestry is beneficial but not required.
Pre-requisite: Successful completion of UVM Compliance and Stakeholder Management.
