Energy Education Trunks


The KEEP Energy Education Trunks are full of educational resources available for Wisconsin educators to loan free of charge through the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP). The Trunks were developed with the middle school student in mind, specifically grades 5-7. They contain materials for FIVE popular KEEP activities (Station Break, Circuit Circus, The Cost of Using Energy, At Watt Rate, and Diminishing Returns) as well as energy education VIDEOS and HANDS-ON RESOURCES. Here is a list of some of the items you will find in the Energy Trunks:

Energy Samples

  • Coal packets (peat, lignite, bituminous, anthracite) and fact sheet
  • Oil in glass bottle 
  • Simulated nuclear fuel pellet
  • Wind pinwheel
  • Photocell Testing Kit (kit contains paper directions, 1 photocell, 2 wire connectors with alligator clips, 1 motor, 1 propeller, 1 buzzer, 1 mini light bulb, and 1 mini light bulb socket)
