Inspiring Environmental Stewardship Through Education and Connection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES) is a dynamic environmental education and outdoor learning center operated by the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP). Nestled on 200 acres of diverse landscapes, CWES provides hands-on learning experiences that inspire environmental stewardship, foster a connection to nature, and promote sustainable practices. Our programs serve schools, organizations, and individuals through a variety of workshops, camps, and events. With a mission to educate, engage, and empower, CWES is a hub for environmental education in Central Wisconsin, dedicated to cultivating a deeper understanding of the natural world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We accomplish this mission by:\n\nTraining and mentoring University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point undergraduate and graduate students in environmental education in an effort to develop the most skilled and sensitive professionals possible.\nProviding innovative environmental education experiences based on ecological principles, integrated natural resource management philosophies, balanced perspectives, and inquiry-based methodologies.\nOffering outdoor opportunities to recreate, rejuvenate and build strong personal connections to the waters, woods, wildlife, and each other.\nDemonstrating sustainable designs and practices based on current research and technology.\nPromoting this leadership model in cooperation with the UW-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources.<\/div>
