Text Rental

Book Returns

What is Text Rental?

Text Rental is a valuable service available to you as an undergraduate student at UWSP. It is a rental library system where you will check out most of your course books at the beginning of the semester and return them at the end (Supplemental books are purchased.)

What do I pay?

The current rental rate is $7.45 per credit, or $89.40 per semester (12+ credits) to rent approximately $600 worth of textbooks. The cost of text rental is included in your tuition as part of your segregated fees.

How do I rent my books?

Enrollment at UWSP and your UWSP PointCard are required for all text rental processing. Bring your booklist (https://mypoint.uwsp.edu/regrec/regrec054/default.aspx) to make the process easier.

Can I highlight in my rental book?

Sparingly -- These books are used semester after semester, so please be considerate of your fellow students.

What if I drop a class?

Please return the book immediately so that another student may rent it.

When do I return my books?

You MUST return the books you rented by the last day of finals each semester, or for interim or 8-week classes, return the book by the last day of class.

I forgot to return my books, now what?

Students can return rental textbooks up to three days late for a $3.00 processing fee per book. Books not returned within the grace period will be billed to your student account along with the $3.00 fee (You will then own the books). Please see specific grace period dates posted in Text Rental.
