The Center for Land Use Education (CLUE) is a joint venture of the University of Wisconsin \u2013 Stevens Point, College of Natural Resources and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension. It was established in July 2000 in response to the advice of College advisors and the effects of increasing population and patterns of development that are at odds with sound land management principles. The Center for Land Use Education provides administrative focus and programming coordination for land use education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community Outreach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our specialists, in collaboration with our partners, create learning opportunities for communities by providing up-to-date, comprehensive training on planning and zoning. We assist towns, villages, cities and counties in making sound land use decisions through focused training that addresses specific local needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student engagement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The UW-Stevens Point Natural Resources Conservation and Community Planning major in the College of Natural Resources (CNR) prepares students to guide citizens in making community decisions, with a firm understanding of natural resource knowledge and social science skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classroom teaching, field experience, service learning, and internships ensures that our future planning professionals will have a solid understanding of land use planning and its emerging challenges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n
