SoTL differs from scholarly teaching, which is the practice of grounding your teaching practice in evidence-based strategies from the educational literature. The paper \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/10.2979\/teachlearninqu.1.1.121\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Principles of Good Practices in SoTL<\/a>\u201d may be helpful for a brief overview. The \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/nancychick.wordpress.com\/sotl-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SoTL Guide<\/a>\u201d provides a more in-depth introduction to what SoTL is and how to do it. SoTL research raises ethical considerations, and all projects should seek approval from the Institutional Review Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before beginning your SoTL project you should<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol
