Our schedule for the day is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>10 a.m.\u00a0 \u201cFrom Earth to the Universe\u201d<br \/>\n11 a.m.\u00a0 \u201cSupermassive Black Holes&#8221;<br \/>\n1 p.m.\u00a0 \u201cOut There \u2013 The Quest for Extrasolar Worlds\u201d<br \/>\n2 p.m.\u00a0 \u201cPhantom of the Universe \u2013 The Hunt for Dark Matter\u201d<br \/>\n3 p.m.\u00a0 \u201cMars, The Ultimate Voyage&#8221;<br \/>\n4 p.m.\u00a0 \u201cSunstruck\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Allen F. Blocher Planetarium is located on the second floor of the Science Building, by the Foucault pendulum, right above the east main entrance. The space consists of a 7.3m diameter dome that houses a Digistar Lite projector. This immersive instructional tool is used for most astronomy courses at UWSP.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Day Stargazing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>End the day with some stargazing (weather permitting!) The public viewing will be hosted at the north end of Coleman Field, the running track on the corner of Maria Drive and Reserve Street. Street parking is available along Reserve Street.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-208411 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uwsp.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Planetarium-Campaign-2025-512x307.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"364\" height=\"218\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>GET INVOLVED!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Blocher Planetarium is a treasure of the Stevens Point community, offering shows to students young and old alike. This space has inspired countless students to go onto careers in astronomy and sparked the imagination of young children on field trips as they ask questions about the universe and their place in it.
