Participants will be able to take part in the cello ensemble and masterclasses take place in part of the day.<\/h4>\n

Masterclasses will be conducted by Mindy Park, Lawrence Leviton and Janet Anthony.<\/h5>\n

Open to: Cellists grade 7 and up, including university students and adults<\/h4>\n

(At least Suzuki book 3 and able to read music)
\nParticipants will get music ahead of time and will need to list
\ntheir preferred email address to receive music in the registration link.<\/p>\n

Registration is $20*<\/strong> and include lunch. All participants will perform in a cello ensemble and concert.<\/p>\n

The UWSP Fall Cello Day Concert<\/strong> will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022<\/strong> in UWSP Michelsen Hall. Hosted by the UWSP Music Department, we will be celebrating the 10th<\/sup> anniversary of the BLUME Haiti organization (https:\/\/www.blumehaiti.org<\/a> ). Goodwill donations will be accepted at the concert for the UWSP Cello Day Fund and Blume Haiti.<\/a><\/p>\n

Michelsen Hall has a seating capacity of 349 and is host to nearly 200 music events each year. Its responsive acoustics, clear sight lines, and warm ambiance create a delightful setting for all kinds of musical performances. In addition, state-of-the-art sound and video equipment provide the space with the flexibility to be used in a variety of multi-media settings.<\/div>\n

Michelsen Hall was named after Peter Michelsen. Long-time music department chair Donald Greene said about Michelsen, “Peter Michelsen was the music department.” Michelsen was appointed music director in 1931. He formed the first real band of the college that by 1935 grew to a widely known 60 member touring group.
