DESCRIPTION:Travel back 100 years in this full dome planetarium show about this wonderful invention! \nThroughout history\, humanity has been fascinated by the night sky\, and various mechanical models were built\, ultimately leading to a magical innovation\, to dynamically represent the starry sky. \nIn ancient Greece\, celestial globes\, orreries\, and astrolabes were created to simulate the motions of stars and planets. How have these models contributed to the development of the planetariums of today? Following the notes of the original inventors\, you can re-live the challenges and triumphs behind the birth of the modern planetarium. \n*Recommended for all audiences \nAdmission\nThere is no charge for our public programs\, although donations of $1-$2 per attendee will be greatly appreciated to allow us to continue these public programs for our community. \nParking\nParking is free on campus for our guests only on Saturdays and Sundays. From Monday-Friday\, the UWSP parking lots are enforced 2 am – 7 pm. DESCRIPTION:What constitutes free speech? \nThis event will celebrate Constitution Day and focus on current topics in free speech on campus. There will be short presentations on civil dialogue and the basic principles of freedom of expression on college campuses. Attendees will be seated in small groups for discussion and civil dialogue. Join us for a discussion of some of the most pressing questions centered on free speech rights in the United States. \nThe Symposium on Free Speech is presented by the UWSP College of Letters and Science. The session will be moderated by Department of Political Science Professor John Blakeman. \nWhen: \n5:30- 7:00 pm \nConstitution Day\, Sept 17\, 2024 \nWhere: \nDreyfus University Center\, Laird Room \nWhether you are a student\, faculty\, or community member\, come and share your input in our free speech discussion.
