SUMMARY:IBEX- The Search for the Edge of the Solar System
DESCRIPTION:Join scientists who are investigating the boundary between our Solar System and the rest of our galaxy in IBEX: Search for the Edge of the Solar System. \nDesigned for visitors with an appreciation for the challenges of space science and a desire to learn more about science research\, IBEX: Search for the Edge of the Solar System follows the creation of NASA’s Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX). Audiences will get an in-depth look at the mission and how IBEX is collecting high-speed atoms to create a map of our Solar System’s boundary. \nNarrated by two inquisitive teenagers\, audiences will hear from the scientists and engineers that developed the IBEX mission and created the spacecraft\, and get the latest updates on the mission’s discoveries. \n*Recommended for all audiences \nAdmission\nThere is no charge for our public programs\, although donations of $1-$2 per attendee will be greatly appreciated to allow us to continue these public programs for our community. \nParking\nParking is free on campus for our guests only on Saturdays and Sundays. From Monday-Friday\, the UWSP parking lots are enforced 2 am – 7 pm. Please visit this website for more details about parking options\, rules\, and regulations.

SUMMARY:Mysteries of Your Brain
DESCRIPTION:Jump into an animated adventure following a girl and her crow companion as they explore what makes the human brain so special. Together you’ll zoom along the paths of neurons\, find out how human and animal brains differ\, and experience illusions on a grand scale!  Along the way\, you’ll learn how your brain makes you\, well\, you\, and see that ultimately\, we each have the power to change our brains. This is truly a story telling planetarium show with few graphics and extravagant features. \n*Recommended for Ages 8+  \nAdmission\nThere is no charge for our public programs\, although donations of $1-$2 per attendee will be greatly appreciated to allow us to continue these public programs for our community. \nParking\nParking is free on campus for our guests only on Saturdays and Sundays. From Monday-Friday\, the UWSP parking lots are enforced 2 am – 7 pm. Please visit this website for more details about parking options\, rules\, and regulations. \n \n    \n GET INVOLVED! \nThe Blocher Planetarium is a treasure of the Stevens Point community\, offering shows to students young and old alike. This space has inspired countless students to go onto careers in astronomy and sparked the imagination of young children on field trips as they ask questions about the universe and their place in it. Help “Rebuild the Wonder” and join this effort to keep future generations gazing up at the stars. Learn More!

SUMMARY:Cosmic Origins Spectrograph
DESCRIPTION:Discover spectroscopy\, the science of light\, and learn how scientists study the Universe by deciphering clues hidden in light arriving from distant objects. \nThe Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) is an instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope designed to analyze ultraviolet light from very distant\, faint objects.  COS allows us to learn about the origins of the large scale structure of the Universe\, the cold interstellar medium\, the formation and evolution of galaxies and the origin of stellar and planetary systems. \nThis feature is especially good for our guests aged 10 and older. *Recommended for all audiences \nAdmission\nThere is no charge for our public programs\, although donations of $1-$2 per attendee will be greatly appreciated to allow us to continue these public programs for our community. \nParking\nParking is free on campus for our guests only on Saturdays and Sundays. From Monday-Friday\, the UWSP parking lots are enforced 2 am – 7 pm.
