DESCRIPTION:Big Astronomy or Astronomía a Gran Escala\, is a multifaceted research and outreach project\, supported by several partners and funded by the National Science Foundation\, that showcases the award-winning bilingual planetarium show Big Astronomy: People\, Places\, Discoveries. The planetarium show transports viewers to Chile where the dark skies and dry\, remote setting create ideal conditions for observing the Universe. Against a backdrop of breathtaking visuals and a hypnotic soundtrack\, Big Astronomy introduces the diverse people who push the limits of technology\, enable scientific discovery and expand what we know about the Universe using state-of-the-art telescopes. \nAdmission\nThere is no charge for our public programs\, although donations of $1-$2 per attendee will be greatly appreciated to allow us to continue these public programs for our community. \nParking\nParking is free on campus for our guests only on Saturdays and Sundays. From Monday-Friday\, the UWSP parking lots are enforced 2 am – 7 pm. DESCRIPTION:High school students (freshman through seniors) who think they might be interested in becoming a music teacher can join us for the day at UWSP in the Noel Fine Arts Center Thursday\, November 20\, 2025. This is a career exploration day for anyone who wants to see if music education is right for them and enjoy a day of fun on the UWSP campus. This is an all-day event\, but students are welcome to attend for only part of the day if needed. Lunch will be provided on campus\, they can attend a music education class\, sit in on choir\, band\, or orchestra\, and even stay for a fun event at the end of the day sponsored by our music fraternities and social groups. This event is free of charge and is also held on the same day that we will hold auditions for admission to the UWSP Department of Music.
