SUMMARY:20 Artists to Watch Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition showcases the work of twenty students studying introductory painting in Assistant Professor Andy Gambrell’s ART 234 course.  The featured paintings demonstrate the students’ application of sighting and measuring techniques to compose and render still life objects from observation.  While only a two-week long exercise\, these paintings demonstrate the students’ ability to bring together diverse new skill sets such stretching and priming canvas\, mixing paint to match hue/value/saturation\, and modeling forms to indicate the proximity and orientation of light sources. \nArtists: \nElla Arn \nBreanna Bangart \nGrace Baumann \nAshley Devillers \nAlice Ehle \nAngie Fuentes \nEmi Hanvold \nKyler Johnson \nHailey Kluck \nGabby Konop \nLauren Laatsch (also exhibit image) \nAva Nagorsen \nJacob Nicolai \nMaddie Nicolai \nJoe Nordman \nIsabel Oliva \nShannon Ortner \nCourtney Rohland \nAndrea Schmitz \nTyler Vincetich \n
