If you want to work in the world’s most dynamic market and be immersed in the rich culture, don’t miss the four-week China internship program offered by the School of Business and Economics. The program runs from mid-May through early June.

Summer Trip

Beijing

  • Government/Company Visit: TusPark (China’s Silicon Valley), other sites to be arranged
  • Sightseeing Activity: Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall, ​Min Dynasty era hutong district, Wangfujing shopping district.

Guilin

  • Internship
  • Chinese Language Lessons
  • Company Visits: Many local industries
  • Guest Lecture:
    • Deng Xiaoping’s economic reformation
    • Chinese music and performance
    • Tourism’s effect on China’s environment and economy
  • Sightseeing Activity
    • Yangshuo: Cruise on Li river, Liusanjie river performance, Moon Mountain
    • Longshen: Rice terraces; Yao minority village
  • Cultural Activity:
    • Cooking class, Tai Qi lesson
    • Explore downtown Guilin with local college students
    • City-wide scavenger hunt with local college students
    • Night market, local bird & flower market
    • Tea sampling at Daoist teahouse

Shanghai

  • Company Visit: Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai Disney, and others to be arranged
  • Sightseeing Activity: The Bund, Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Garden, Shanghai’s World Famous Acrobat Show
